Job Summary
The Material Engineer is responsible for overseeing the selection, testing, approval, and quality control of construction materials to ensure compliance with project specifications,

, and international standards. The role supports project quality by ensuring all materials used meet the required technical and safety standards.
- Review and approve material submittals in line with project specifications and Aldar standards
- Coordinate with consultants, contractors, and suppliers for material approvals
- Ensure all materials comply with approved specifications, standards, and project requirements
- Monitor material procurement, delivery, storage, and usage on-site
- Conduct inspections and witness material testing (concrete, asphalt, steel, etc.)
- Liaise with third-party laboratories for testing and certification
- Review test reports and ensure compliance with quality standards
- Maintain records of approved materials, test results, and related documentation
- Identify non-conforming materials and ensure corrective actions are taken
- Support QA/QC team in ensuring overall project quality compliance
- Ensure proper material handling and storage procedures are followed
- Coordinate with site engineers to ensure correct material usage
- Assist in resolving technical issues related to materials
- Ensure compliance with environmental and sustainability requirements where applicable
Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or a related field
Membership in a recognized engineering body is an advantage
Knowledge of international standards (ASTM, BS, ACI, etc.)
Proficiency in MS Office and documentation systems (Aconex / Asite preferred)
Required Experiences- Minimum 8 years of experience as a Material Engineer in construction projects
- UAE experience is mandatory, preferably in Abu Dhabi
- Previous experience on Aldar projects is highly preferred
- Building construction (villas, residential/commercial towers) or infrastructure projects
- Material submittals, approvals, and testing processes
- Construction materials (concrete, steel, asphalt, etc.)
- QA/QC procedures and inspection processes
- Consultants, contractors, and testing laboratories
