Compliance Director, Global Fund

Our client is a fast‑growing global investment firm with a diversified platform. The firm is seeking a Compliance Director
, based in Abu Dhabi, to take ownership of compliance support for marketing and global fundraising/IR activity. The successful candidate will shape and oversee the firm’s marketing, distribution, and investor communication compliance framework across multiple jurisdictions; and work closely with senior stakeholders across the firm.

• Serve as the primary compliance adviser to global Investor Relations and fundraising teams.
• Develop, implement, and maintain the firm’s marketing, distribution, and IR compliance framework, ensuring alignment with multi‑jurisdictional regulatory requirements.
• Review and approve marketing materials, investor presentations, DDQs, and client‑facing documentation.
• Advise on global fund distribution rules, including AIFMD/UCITS regimes, MiFID‑related requirements, US securities and marketing rules, and relevant Middle East regulations.
• Support the launch and structuring of new funds from a marketing and distribution compliance perspective.
• Coordinate regulatory filings and notifications associated with investor marketing and fundraising activity.
• Provide training and guidance to IR, investment, and other front‑office teams on applicable conduct and marketing standards.
• Monitor regulatory developments impacting fundraising and investor communications and update internal policies accordingly.

• Minimum 10+ years’ experience in financial services, ideally from:
• A leading private practice firm specializing in funds or financial services regulatory work, and/or
• An in‑house compliance role within a GP, asset manager, sovereign wealth fund, or alternatives platform.
• Strong technical knowledge of cross‑border fund marketing and distribution rules.
• Experienced in reviewing investor materials and advising commercial teams in a fast‑paced environment.
• Background in private markets (private equity, secondaries, credit, or real assets) is strongly preferred.
• Highly organized, pragmatic, and able to work autonomously while engaging effectively with senior stakeholders.
• Prior Middle East experience is beneficial but not required.
