Trade Operations & Documentary Credit Officer

The Trade Operations & D/C Officer will be responsible for the execution and processing of all trade transactions arranged by the Firm including trade related payments, documentary credit (DC) transactions, documentary collections and other key trade instruments. The Trade Operations & D/C Officer will work under the supervision of the Head of Operations Officer and ensure compliance with internal policies, international rules (e.g., UCP 600, ISBP), and applicable regulatory requirements.
The role requires meticulous attention to detail, effective communication with clients, and coordination with internal stakeholders to deliver timely, high-quality trade finance services.
Key Responsibilities
- Review, amend, and advise letters of credit (import/export) in compliance with UCP 600 and applicable standards.
- Check shipping documents for compliance and discrepancies, communicate with clients, and process acceptance or payment accordingly.
- Handle Standby Letters of Credit (SBLC), guarantees, and related trade instruments as needed.
- Liaise with clients, relationship managers, and correspondent banks regarding operations-related queries and issues.
- Maintain up-to-date records and input accurate data into the trade finance system.
- Ensure compliance with AML/CFT, sanctions screening, and other regulatory requirements.
- Provide advice and technical support to internal and external stakeholders on documentary credit matters.
- Contribute to process improvements and assist with internal/external audits and regulatory reporting as required.

Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Banking, Finance, Business, or related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in trade finance operations, with a focus on documentary credits.
- Strong knowledge of UCP 600, ISBP, ISP
98, URDG, and ICC practices. - Familiarity with SWIFT messaging formats and trade finance systems.
- The position is based in ADGM, Abu Dhabi
