Position Overview First Abu Dhabi Bank (FAB) is seeking a Senior Originator-Trader
- Carbon Markets for its Commodity trading desk in Abu Dhabi, UAE. The role carries primary responsibility for developing FAB 's Carbon Markets franchise across compliance and voluntary markets, combining carbon origination, trading, pricing, risk management, client development, and revenue generation. The successful candidate will bring extensive commodity trading experience with strong carbon market expertise and contribute to expanding the bank 's environmental products capabilities.

The role will lead the development of FAB 's Carbon Markets franchise across Compliance Markets and Voluntary Markets. Working within the Commodity trading desk, the Senior Originator-Trader will strengthen the bank 's carbon capabilities, participate in the UAE carbon ecosystem and relevant working groups, and help develop products for regional and global clients. The position requires close coordination with sales and coverage teams, FAB 's ESG team, Global Corporate Finance (GCF), Global Transaction Banking (GTB), and international FAB centres where collaboration can support client activity and additional business flow.

• Trade, price, execute, and risk-manage carbon products.
• Manage trading activity across applicable compliance programmes and Emissions Trading Systems (ETS).
• Support the pricing, origination, and risk management of carbon offsets.
• Generate P&L through detailed knowledge and understanding of carbon markets.
• Manage desk risk positions within applicable limits and established risk tolerance.
• Monitor relevant risks across the global commodity book.
• Remain accountable for risk levels and limits established by the Desk Head.
• Report trading positions to the Desk Head daily while maintaining alignment with FAB 's longer-term requirements.
• Apply established commodity risk-management expertise to carbon trading activities.

• Drive carbon offset origination initiatives.
• Establish and develop relationships with key clients and counter parties.
• Build distribution channels that support the development of a carbon flow business.
• Work closely with sales teams to create solutions aligned with client requirements.
• Identify opportunities to develop additional revenue streams for the Commodities business.
• Coordinate with international FAB centres to capture flows and provide pricing for additional local customer business.
• Identify new business avenues capable of generating additional flow.
• Support the development of new carbon products with revenue-generating potential.
• Contribute to FAB 's market position in commodity hedging solutions for local banks and corporate clients.

The Senior Originator-Trader will maintain close engagement with sales, coverage, ESG, product teams, counter parties, and clients. The position requires an ability to anticipate customer requirements, respond efficiently, and establish productive relationships with both existing and prospective clients. Open communication across trading desks and stakeholder groups is important, including sharing relevant market information and supporting new desk initiatives.

• Minimum 7 years of commodity trading experience, with specifically strong experience in carbon markets.

• Demonstrable track record of managing commodities risk.
