Senior Finance Manager

We are looking for a Finance Manager to lead the financial control, accounting, tax, treasury and regulatory reporting activities of our crypto exchange. The role will ensure accurate financial reporting, effective financial controls, timely regulatory submissions and strong management of banking relationships.

The Finance Manager will be the primary finance contact for external auditors, tax advisers, banking partners and regulators on financial matters, working closely with Compliance, Operations, Legal and Technology.

Financial reporting and accounting

• Own the monthly, quarterly and annual financial close, ensuring timely and accurate reporting across relevant entities.
• Prepare financial statements under IFRS or the applicable accounting framework, including consolidated accounts where required.
• Prepare management accounts with commentary on revenue, operating costs, profitability, balance sheet movements and cash flow.
• Oversee accounting for trading fees, custody fees, digital assets, fiat balances, intercompany transactions and other exchange-related activities.
• Establish and document accounting policies for complex or new transactions, working with external advisers where necessary.
• Maintain complete and accurate general ledgers, supporting schedules and audit trails.
• Review balance sheet reconciliations and ensure outstanding items are investigated and resolved promptly.

Exchange controls and reconciliations

• Oversee daily reconciliations between trading platforms, customer ledgers, bank accounts, payment providers, custodians and blockchain wallet records.
• Establish controls to distinguish customer assets and liabilities from the company's own funds and digital assets, in line with applicable requirements.
• Monitor reconciliation breaks, settlement differences and unexplained balances, escalating material issues promptly.
• Work with Operations and Technology to improve the accuracy, completeness and traceability of financial data.
• Maintain controls over journal entries, payments, account access and financial-system changes.
• Support customer asset reporting and proof-of-reserves or related assurance exercises, where applicable.

Regulatory reporting and capital monitoring

• Own the preparation and submission of financial regulatory returns in coordination with Compliance.
• Monitor regulatory capital, liquidity and other applicable financial requirements, including headroom against minimum thresholds.
• Maintain capital and liquidity forecasts, identify potential shortfalls and elevate corrective actions to senior management.
• Prepare supporting calculations, reconciliations and documentation for regulatory submissions.
• Act as the finance lead for regulatory enquiries, inspections and requests for financial information.
• Assess the financial and reporting implications of regulatory changes, new products and business expansion.

Tax and statutory compliance

• Oversee corporate income tax, VAT/GST, withholding tax and other applicable tax obligations across relevant jurisdictions.
• Coordinate tax computations, returns, payments and statutory filings with external advisers.
• Review the tax treatment of exchange services, digital-asset transactions and cross-border arrangements.
• Maintain appropriate documentation for intercompany transactions and transfer pricing.
• Manage tax authority enquiries and support tax audits.
• Maintain a compliance calendar to ensure filing and payment deadlines are met.

Treasury and banking

• Manage banking relationships, account openings and ongoing bank due diligence requests.
• Oversee cash management, payment approvals, cash-flow forecasting and funding requirements.
• Monitor fiat and digital-asset treasury balances, settlement needs and counter party exposures.
• Coordinate with banking partners, payment service providers and custodians to resolve payment or settlement issues.
• Establish appropriate controls over bank mandates, authorised signatories and treasury transactions.
• Support contingency planning for banking disruptions, liquidity pressures and changes in service-provider availability.

Audit and stakeholder management

• Lead the annual external audit, including planning, preparation of audit schedules and resolution of audit queries.
• Coordinate with auditors on accounting judgements, valuations, disclosures and evidence supporting digital-asset balances.
