Senior Associate – Government Relations

JOB PURPOSE
- Assist in establishing relationship with Government authorities to ensure that all necessary permits and licenses for the development’s projects are obtained in a timely manner.
- Assist the PM team to the successful delivery of a major Infrastructure, Housing and Development projects.
- Assist processing of all required project developments and construction permits through external government agencies, and follow-up on the reviews and comments of approving agencies.
- Ensure close coordination with project teams as required to secure permits from relevant external/internal entities such as Government Authorities across Abu Dhabi Emirate.
- Coordinate with project teams as necessary to assure that all ongoing project development and construction projects are conducted in line with the licenses and permits obtained.
- Monitor related government laws and regulations affecting the development of the different projects and highlight any changes or amendments that might affect it.
- Ensure that all required permits are obtained in a timely manner to prevent any delays in the project delivery schedule.
- Assist the validation of prepared documents by the consultant and contractors for assets handing over.
- Learn and maintain assets handing over tracker and plan for each project to ensure and maintain the implementation of assets handing over plan.
- Coordinate and under supervision, take a lead in communication/ negotiation with local authorities for assets handing over process till signing assets handing over agreements.
- Report any potential that could affect the schedule of assets handing over ALDAR.
- Develop technical understanding of infrastructure sub-disciplines (roads, wet utilities, dry utilities).
- Support the collection, assimilation and communication of government in a timely and efficient manner.
- Attend to all critical issues to ensure that services are delivered in the most effective manner.
- Build strong stakeholder relations with the focal persons in the services provided to which will enable PM to avoid any delay related to authorities’ approvals.
- Learn and process coordinate tracking, managing and storing documents relevant to assets handing over for each project.
- Strong knowledge of construction-related policies and permits application processes.
- Strong network of key Government entities representatives.
- Excellent communication and inter-personal skills.
- Excellent oral and written English and Arabic.
- Excellent problem solving and decision-making skills.
- Excellent planning and organization skills.
- Timeliness of permits applications.
- Effectiveness in permit/NOC approvals.
- Development & Portfolio Management Satisfaction.
- Timeliness in generating infrastructure designs.
- Number of design defects recorded post-delivery.
Bachelor degree, preferably in public policy, government, public administration
