Job Purpose
Job Purpose: The Water Policy Specialist will be responsible for communicating any key milestones or initiatives taken in developing sector-related policies across the water sector.
This role also involves identifying the audience and key stakeholders affected by new or changes to policies and leveraging the different communication methods to communicate the given update.
In addition, The Water Policy Specialist is responsible for working closely with the Policy Development team to ensure that policies, strategies, and plans are drafted and completed accurately for relevant stakeholders.
Job-specific Responsibilities- Support and facilitate policy development procedures at all stages of policy development.
- Manage strategic communications plans to ensure timely execution of the outlined deliverables related to the new policy or development.
- Support and assist the Policy Development Team in developing policies, strategies, and plans following the entity's strategic directions while considering the key stakeholders involved in the process.
- Work closely with the Legal Affairs Office to ensure the alignment of water sector policies and plans with the set legislations and laws.
- Build collaborative, cross-directorate team relationships to establish communications strategies and ensure a consistent message for targeted audiences (both internal and external).
- Manage the review and approval process with key stakeholders before releasing communication materials relating to new policy initiatives within the entity and the water sector.
- Assist in establishing and maintaining excellent working relationships throughout the entity and all other key. Promote and maintain the right image of the entity while conducting business ethically and professionally.
Qualifications: Bachelor s Degree in a relevant discipline e.g., Public Policy, Social Policy, or Communication.
ExperienceExperience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a related field
