Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT)

Looking for a dedicated and detail-oriented Medical Laboratory Technician to join our dynamic team. As a key member of our laboratory staff, you will play a crucial role in providing accurate and timely diagnostic information to support patient care.

• Sample Collection: Collecting various types of patient specimens, such as blood, urine, and tissue samples. Ensuring proper labelling and documentation of collected specimens.
• Laboratory Testing: Performing a wide range of routine and complex laboratory tests on collected samples. Operating and maintaining laboratory equipment to ensure accuracy and reliability of results.
• Data Management: Recording and maintaining accurate and detailed records of test results, procedures, and patient information. Utilizing laboratory information systems (LIS) for data entry and retrieval. Interacting with patients to explain the blood-drawing process and alleviate any concerns or fears. Identifying patients and verifying their identities before sample collection.
• Venipuncture: Performing venipuncture to collect blood samples from patients. Using proper techniques to ensure patient comfort and specimen integrity. Properly labelling and storing collected blood samples for transport to the laboratory. Following established protocols for handling and processing different types of specimens.
• Infection Control: Adhering to strict infection control procedures to minimize the risk of contamination during sample collection. Maintaining a clean and organized work environment.
• Communication: Communicating effectively with laboratory personnel and other healthcare team members regarding sample collection and any issues that may arise.
