An Occupational Therapist (OT) is a healthcare professional specializing in assisting patients to improve their ability to perform daily activities through therapeutic strategies and interventions. - Evaluate patients abilities and limitations through comprehensive assessments and screenings.
- Develop individualized treatment plans based on patient goals and therapeutic needs.
- Facilitate therapeutic exercises and activities to enhance patients motor and cognitive skills.
- Educate patients, families, and caregivers on techniques to support therapy outcomes.
- Adapt and recommend adaptive equipment to improve patients daily living skills.
- Document patient progress, treatment modifications, and results accurately in medical records.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated and effective patient care.
- Conduct home and workplace visits to evaluate and modify the environment for accessibility.
- Participate in team meetings to discuss patient progress and treatment adjustments.
- Stay updated with the latest research and developments in occupational therapy practices.
- Evaluate and address psychosocial factors that may impact patients treatment outcomes.
- Provide support and consultation to schools and educators on accommodating students with disabilities.
- Bachelor s or Master s degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
- Valid state license to practice occupational therapy, with certification preferred.
- Proven experience as an occupational therapist, preferably in a clinical setting.
- Strong understanding of therapeutic techniques, tools, and equipment used in OT.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain treatments to patients clearly.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team effectively.
- Compassionate, patient-centered approach with a commitment to improving patient outcomes.
