Responsibilities
- The successful candidate will provide expert technical support and services in light, scanning, and transmission electron microscopy for research and diagnostic users within the College of Medicine & Health Sciences and other department and colleges in the UAE University.
- Operate and maintain Transmission and Scanning Electron Microscopes.
- Maintain vacuum systems, chillers, cryogenic and gas systems, and ancillary laboratory equipment.
- Prepare and process biological specimens for EM studies, including fixation, embedding, ultramicrotomy, staining and examination.
- Prepare laboratory reagents and resins for microscopy work.
- Perform image acquisition, analysis, and calibration for high-resolution imaging.
- Train and assist students, researchers, and faculty in microscopy techniques.
Bachelor or Master’s degree in Cell Biology or Morphological Sciences.
Preferred QualificationAn advantage will be offered to candidates with experience in confocal laser microscopy.
Expected Skills4–5 years of experience operating and maintaining transmission and scanning microscopes. Proven skills in tissue preparation, ultramicrotomy, and electron microscopy techniques. Proficiency in English; strong analytical and troubleshooting abilities.
