Echocardiographer

Responsibilities

Perform imaging tests Echo Cardiograms and non‑imaging cardiovascular evaluations, which may include exercise tolerance tests, stress test, Holter monitoring, event recorders, 24‑hour ambulatory BP monitoring, electrocardiograms at technical level and assist in performing transesophageal echocardiography. Obtain patient history, explain procedures to patient, address patient concerns and follow established pre‑screening policies and procedures.

Determine appropriate methodology and techniques to use, arrange immobilization or support devices for proper patient positioning, select appropriate imaging device, prepare patient for echocardiography procedures, position patient appropriately for prescribed procedure, and assist patients at completion of procedure. Use good judgment when determining if the procedure was sufficient for proper diagnoses.

Provide images, data analysis, and patient information to the physician for diagnostic interpretation; prepare facilities in accordance with procedural requirements; calibrate equipment as required; monitor patient’s physical condition during the course of the procedure and report patient change of status or emergency situations to clinical staff, supervisor, and/or cardiologist.

Recognize abnormal rhythms and immediately notify physician or appropriate clinical staff; maintain accurate patient documentation including computerized documentation; perform general office duties; maintain stock supplies; assist administrators in determining quantities for purchase; record procedure codes for billing purposes; and schedule patients.

Ensure proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies; promote continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices; troubleshoot equipment and document errors or equipment malfunctions; and escalk issues and concerns to engineer, supervisor, and/or cardiologist.

Graduate from an accredited school of Cardiac Technology; six months of internship in cathlab technology; current license in country of origin with DOH license to practice in U.A.E.; and two years of recent related work experience as a Cardiology Tech, Interventional/Special Procedure Technologist (or equivalent).

Excellent command of oral and written English. Arabic language advantageous/desirable but not essential.

Ability to adjust to group practice in an industrial environment.
