To assess, diagnose, and monitor neurological disorders by studying the electrical activity of the nervous system using specialized tests and equipment.

Responsibilities
  • Perform neurophysiological tests (EEG, EMG, Evoked Potentials)
  • Interpret test results to aid diagnosis
  • Collaborate with neurologists and surgeons
  • Monitor neural function during surgeries
  • Maintain accurate patient records
  • Stay updated with neurophysiology advancements
  • Educate patients and families about conditions and treatments
  • Typical daytime hours; minimal night shifts
  • Hospital, surgical, or research lab environments
  • May involve intraoperative monitoring during surgeries
  • Reports to Head of Neurology or Clinical Director
  • Collaborates with neurologists, surgeons, anesthesiologists, and technicians
  • May be part of a centralized or interdisciplinary team
  • Participates in regular team meetings and case reviews
  • Deliver accurate and timely neurophysiological assessments
  • Maintain high standards of patient care and safety
  • Ensure compliance with clinical protocols and documentation
  • Contribute to continuous improvement and research initiatives

  • Works collaboratively in multidisciplinary teams

Qualifications
  • Proficiency in EEG, EMG, NCS, and EP testing
  • Data interpretation and diagnostic analysis
  • Familiarity with neurophysiology equipment and software
  • Understanding of nervous system anatomy and physiology
  • Ability to stay updated with latest research and technologies
  • Empathy and patient‑centered care
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • Adaptability to diverse patient needs
  • Ethical decision‑making and cultural sensitivity
  • Teamwork and professionalism in clinical settings
  • PhD or MD in Neurophysiology or related field
  • Certification (e.g., ABCN or equivalent)
  • Proficiency in neurophysiological testing equipment
  • Strong analytical and communication skills
Subspeciality Requirements
  • Bachelor’s and Master’s in neuroscience or related field
  • Completion of fellowship/training in neurophysiology
  • 1–2 years clinical or research experience preferred
  • Experience in hospital or academic settings
