Responsible to provide patient care and independently or under the supervision of senior radiographers perform all general radiography procedures, analyse output for diagnostic evaluation purpose, and report to supervisor as needed.
Fully competent of the use of X-ray, angiography, fluoroscopy to produce images of organs and body parts. Generalradiographers assist in the diagnosis of injuries and diseases and contribute towards establishing treatment plans. They are also involved in intervention procedures, assisting the physician e.g. the removal of kidney stones, orthopaedic procedures, etc
ResponsibilitiesPerforming all General radiography procedures in accordance with departmental policies, procedures and protocols. Applying detailed knowledge of anatomy and physiology to produce images of high diagnostic quality
Performing other related radiography (special) procedures as required
Evaluating images produced for acceptable quality, appropriateness and completeness, and advising other staff when required. Forwards images for Radiologist for review and reporting
Responsible for the safe and competent use of all radiology equipment, patient appliances and aids used in the department. Reporting any incidents and equipment faults to senior staff in a timely manner.
Maintaining a clean and tidy working environment. Including restocking of supplies for subsequent use and equipment cleaning.
Providing advice to medical/ technical staff on appropriate techniques and imagery interventions.
Dealing with patients and clinical staff initial enquiries and to relay to clinical staff where necessary
Practices proper entries and records into Hospital Information System. Input of the radiological images onto the Hospital PACS system.
Perform other duties as assigned by Supervisor
QualificationsBSc in Radiography OR graduate from an accredited Diploma Program (NLT 3 year Syllabus)
Graduate from an accredited Radiography course resulting in being awarded a diploma or certificate as a Radiography technician from an accredited program or equivalent of (NLT 2 years Syllabus)
AND current National License
NLT 2 years experience in a multimodality site/ facility including OR, trauma, etc. in an acute care hospital.
CT and/ OR MRI experience
