Job Summary
Emergency Medical Technician – Advanced – UAEN at NMC Health plc. Full‑time, on‑site position located in Abu Dhabi, UAE, requiring an EMT with advanced life support capabilities, valid local licensing and the ability to operate an ambulance efficiently.
Responsibilities- Respond to medical emergency calls, navigate to scenes safely, and provide basic and advanced life‑support care.
- Conduct patient assessment, interpret ECGs, and perform scene size‑up and primary/secondary examinations.
- Provide advanced airway management including oropharyngeal, nasopharyngeal airway devices, BVM ventilation, and tracheal intubation suctioning.
- Administer intravenous medications (excluding narcotics and controlled substances), perform peripheral cannulation, and give crystalloid, glucagon, activated charcoal, and other critical drugs.
- Perform life‑saving procedures such as CPR, defibrillation, anaphylaxis management, and myocardial infarction protocol (aspirin, sublingual nitroglycerin).
- Control bleeding, stabilize injuries, and immobilize suspected fractures with cervical collars, spinal boards, and splints.
- Assist with pre‑hospital childbirth, pediatric and adult rescue breathing, and use of pneumatic anti‑shock garments.
- Manage patient transport, continually reassess patients en‑route, and communicate updates to receiving facilities.
- Maintain ambulance and medical equipment, restock supplies, and perform cleaning according to infection‑control protocols.
- Document patient contacts accurately, complete pre‑hospital care reports, and provide copies to hospitals as required.
- Adhere to state, regional, and local regulations, practice within scope of care, and cooperate with police, fire, and hospital staff.
- Internationally recognized EMT‑P course or equivalent with a minimum of two (2) years of course duration, OR a minimum of two (2) years Associate degree in EMT.
- Valid BLS, ACLS, PALS, and PHTLS certifications.
- At least two (2) years of professional experience as an EMT.
- Current license in country of origin and a valid UAE–Dubai (DOH) license to practice in Abu Dhabi.
- Fluent in spoken and written English; knowledge of Arabic is desirable but not essential.
