Faculty - Health Sciences; Health Information Management
Faculty are responsible for providing effective instruction in the Health Science/Health Information Management curriculum and may involve other health sciences programs specifically developing the Health Information Management program. By using various learning methodologies that support a learning by doing philosophy, curriculum is taught to second language learners within a student-centric learning environment that fosters respect for students, their culture, and traditions.
Faculty members play an important role in assisting with the development and preservation of system-wide and directorate-specific policies, and are viewed as active participants in academic and extra-curricular events at the College and within the community.
- Masters and/or PhD Qualification in Health Information Management, Health Informatics, Health Administration, Public Health or in a relevant discipline.
- Undergraduate coursework in Health Information Management (HIM) / Medical Records Administration (MRA) also required.
- A minimum of 3 years of Health Information Management or Health Informatics teaching/training experience at a tertiary level with specific experience in teaching ICD-10-CA or ICD
-10-AM - At least 3 years of relevant industry experience in the Health Information Management field
- Overseas teaching/training experience to non-native English speakers is desirable
- Fluency in written and spoken English is essential. Fluency in written and spoken Arabic is desirable
