- Bachelor's degree in Optometry or related field
- 3+ years of experience as an Optometrist in a medical setting
- Knowledge of optical equipment, eye care products, and visual testing procedures
- A valid license from the local authority or board of optometry
The Optometrist will be responsible for providing comprehensive eye examinations and prescribing glasses or contact lenses to patients. The Optometrist will also provide advice on the improvement of vision, the prevention of eye diseases, and the diagnosis of ocular conditions. This position requires excellent interpersonal skills to interact with patients as well as the ability to keep detailed records. The ideal candidate should have extensive knowledge of optometric procedures, optical equipment, eyewear products, and safety regulations.
Responsibilities- Perform comprehensive eye examinations using advanced diagnostic equipment
- Prescribe corrective lenses based on patient needs
- Educate patients on eyecare health practices
- Diagnose ocular conditions such as glaucoma and cataracts
- Monitor patient progress over time by taking note of any changes in vision
- Educate patients on how to properly use contact lenses or glasses
