Position: Psychiatrist ( Consultant)

Job Summary 1.
Clinical Leadership & Service Development
  • Establish and lead psychiatric services across detox, rehabilitation, and continuing care.
  • Develop evidence-based clinical pathways for addiction, dual diagnosis, and complex mental health cases.
  • Support commissioning and phased service rollout aligned with regulatory approvals.
  • Ensure integrated, multidisciplinary models of care.
  • Drive innovation and continuous improvement in psychiatric services.
2.
Clinical Governance, Quality & Patient Safety
  • Lead clinical governance frameworks and patient safety initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with UAE healthcare regulations and accreditation standards (JCI-aligned).
  • Oversee incident reporting, risk management, and clinical audits.
  • Ensure ethical practice, safeguarding, consent, and confidentiality.
  • Act as the accountable authority for psychiatric clinical quality.
3.
Medical Oversight & Case Management
  • Provide senior oversight for complex detox, dual-diagnosis, and high-risk psychiatric cases.
  • Lead multidisciplinary treatment planning and case reviews.
  • Ensure safe prescribing practices and medication governance.
  • Support emergency and escalation decision-making.
  • Ensure continuity of care and discharge planning.
4.
Workforce Leadership & Clinical Supervision
  • Lead recruitment, supervision, and development of psychiatric staff.
  • Ensure licensing, credentialing, competency assessment, and CPD compliance.
  • Provide clinical supervision, mentoring, and performance oversight.
  • Support staff wellbeing and resilience in high-intensity environments.
  • Contribute to workforce planning and clinical coverage models.
5.
Regulatory Compliance & Accreditation
  • Ensure psychiatric services meet DOH licensing requirements.
  • Lead readiness for inspections, audits, and accreditation surveys.
  • Maintain compliant clinical documentation and reporting.
  • Act as the primary clinical liaison with regulators when required.
  • Ensure policies and SOPs align with mental health and addiction standards.
  • Contribute to departmental budgeting and cost control.
  • Support workforce cost planning, including staffing models and on-call coverage.
  • Monitor utilization of clinical resources and medications.
  • Provide clinical input into service demand forecasting and capacity planning.
  • Support business cases for new psychiatric services and programs.
7.
Strategic Leadership & Stakeholder Engagement
  • Act as a senior clinical advisor to executive leadership and the Board.
  • Support organizational strategy, service expansion, and program development.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders across clinical, HR, finance, and operations.
  • Build external relationships with referral partners and healthcare networks.
  • Enhance the center’s clinical reputation and credibility.
Experience Requirements
  • Minimum 10-12 8years of relevant professional experience,
  • Proven experience in a healthcare, mental health, addiction, or rehabilitation setting (as applicable to the department).
  • Demonstrated experience in service development, team leadership, and operational delivery.
  • Strong track record of working in regulated environments, including compliance, audits, and inspections.
  • Experience collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and senior leadership.
  • Exposure to start-up, greenfield, or transformation environments is an advantage.
  • Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited medical school is required.
Educational Requirements
  • Board certification in the relevant specialty (e.g., Psychiatry) is required.
  • Completion of a relevant fellowship (e.g., Psychiatry, Child & Adolescent Psychiatry) is strongly preferred.
  • Master’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., MBA, MHA, MPH, or Clinical Master’s) is advantageous
