Job Summary

The Clinical Coordinator is responsible for coordinating day-to-day clinical operations ensuring effective patient flow supporting healthcare professionals and maintaining high standards of patient care safety and regulatory compliance The role involves coordinating between clinical teams patients physicians administration and other departments to ensure efficient delivery of healthcare services

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate daily clinical activities and ensure smooth functioning of clinical services
  • Monitor patient appointments admissions transfers procedures and follow-up activities
  • Coordinate communication between physicians nurses allied health professionals patients and administrative teams
  • Ensure appropriate staffing and allocation of clinical resources according to operational requirements
  • Monitor patient flow and assist in resolving delays scheduling issues and operational concerns
  • Support physicians and clinical staff in coordinating consultations investigations procedures and treatment plans
  • Ensure clinical documentation patient records and reports are complete accurate and maintained appropriately
  • Monitor compliance with clinical policies procedures infection prevention standards and patient safety requirements
  • Assist with implementation and monitoring of quality improvement initiatives
  • Identify clinical and operational issues and elevate them to the appropriate manager when required
  • Coordinate multidisciplinary meetings case discussions and clinical activities as applicable
  • Assist with staff orientation training competency assessments and continuing education activities
  • Monitor clinical supplies equipment availability and other resources required for patient care
  • Support incident reporting investigation and corrective preventive actions
  • Maintain patient confidentiality and ensure compliance with applicable healthcare regulations and organizational policies
  • Prepare clinical activity reports statistics audits and performance reports as required
  • Participate in internal audits accreditation activities quality programs and regulatory inspections
  • Promote effective teamwork professional communication and a patient-centered approach
  • Perform other duties related to clinical coordination as assigned by management

Working Conditions

The Clinical Coordinator works in a clinical healthcare environment and may be required to coordinate with multiple departments and healthcare professionals depending on the organization and service requirements the position may involve shift work weekends or on-call responsibilities

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing, Healthcare Management, Allied Health, or a related clinical discipline
  • Valid professional license/registration where applicable
  • Previous experience in a clinical coordination, nursing, healthcare operations, or supervisory role is preferred
  • Experience in a hospital, medical center, clinic, or healthcare organization
  • Knowledge of healthcare quality standards, patient safety, infection control, and clinical documentation requirements
