Role Description The CSSD Technician is responsible for the cleaning, decontamination, assembly, packaging, and sterilization of reusable medical instruments and equipment in accordance with established protocols and infection control standards. This full-time, on-site role in Abu Dhabi involves operating and monitoring sterilization equipment, maintaining accurate records of sterilization cycles, and ensuring traceability of instruments and sets. The technician collaborates closely with operating room and clinical teams to prioritize instrument needs, support case readiness, and respond to urgent requests.

Daily tasks include inspecting instruments for functionality, managing inventory of sterile supplies, adhering to safety procedures, and participating in quality assurance activities. The role also requires ongoing compliance with regulatory standards, participation in training, and contribution to continuous improvement of CSSD workflows.
Qualifications

• Candidates should possess strong technical skills in decontamination and sterilization processes, including cleaning, disinfection, packaging, and use of sterilization equipment.
• Candidates should possess solid knowledge of infection control principles, including aseptic techniques and prevention of cross-contamination in sterile processing areas.
• Candidates should possess familiarity with operating room workflows and instrument sets, supporting timely and accurate preparation of surgical trays.
• Candidates should possess understanding of medical terminology relevant to surgical instruments, procedures, and CSSD documentation.
• Relevant certification or training in sterile processing/CSSD or equivalent technical discipline is preferred.
• Previous experience in a hospital CSSD or sterile services department is beneficial.
• Ability to follow standard operating procedures, maintain detailed records, and work safely with chemicals and equipment.
• Strong attention to detail, reliability, and ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary clinical environment.
