Description of the RoleWe are seeking a proactive and technically skilled AI & Digital Transformation Specialist to support ICON’s AI adoption and workflow enhancement initiatives. The ideal candidate combines a strong IT/AI background with the ability to understand design and engineering workflows, and translate them into AI-driven solutions, automations, and tools that elevate productivity across the organisation.
This is a mid-level role reporting to the Managing Director and collaborating closely with the Sector Heads, BIM, MIS, and IT teams.
Duties and Responsibilities AI Integration for Design & Engineering- Analyse ICON’s design activities and workflows documentation.
- Develop and deploy AI tools to support:
- Concept design intelligence
- CAD/BIM efficiency enhancement
- Automated document generation (reports, specs, schedules)
- BOQ support and data extraction
- Drawing/report QA/QC
- Build intuitive AI assistants tailored to the needs of design and technical teams.
- Identify automation opportunities across design, engineering, QS, and project workflows.
- Build workflow engines, scripts, and AI-enabled tools that reduce manual workload.
- Integrate AI solutions with SharePoint, ERP system, BIM tools, and internal platforms using APIs where needed.
- Work with the BIM Manager on CAD/BIM-related AI tools, plugins, or automation workflows.
- Coordinate with the MIS Manager on SharePoint, ERP automations, and internal approval workflow enhancements.
- Liaise with the IT Manager for secure deployment, system permissions, and hardware requirements.
- Test AI outputs for accuracy, reliability, and compliance with ICON standard s.
- Document all developed tools and workflows.
- Train designers, engineers, and support teams on newly implemented AI capabilities.
- Continually monitor emerging AI technologies relevant to the AEC industry.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, IT, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, or a related field.
- Proficiency in:
- Scripting languages
- Large Language Models (LLM) development and integration
- APIs, automation frameworks, and cloud platforms
- Exposure to AEC industry workflows (architecture, engineering, landscape, or BIM) is highly preferred.
- Familiarity with CAD/BIM ecosystems (AutoCAD, Revit, Civil 3D) is an advantage.
- Strong problem-solving skills, analytical mindset, and ability to translate operational needs into practical solutions.
