Data Center Program Manager - IT/Network and Compliance
As a Data Center Program Manager (DCPM) for IT/Network and Compliance, you will perform troubleshooting for service incidents, manage assigned projects to meet service delivery objectives, and escalate issues to appropriate stakeholders to remove obstacles. You will also follow safety policies and procedures and participate in root cause analysis (RCA) of incidents. This role offers an opportunity to build a solid understanding of data center procedures, collaborate across various teams, and provide mentorship by sharing best practices.
Microsoft's Cloud Operations & Innovation (CO+I) powers our cloud services. As a CO+I DCPM, you will play a key role in delivering core infrastructure and foundational technologies for services like Bing, Office 365, Xbox, One Drive, and Azure. Responsibilities:- Follow safety and security policies; report issues immediately.
- Manage complex IT deployments, including power, rack layout, network compatibility, and physical installation.
- Maintain cost awareness and adhere to budgets.
- Act as the primary contact for data center audits, compliance projects, safety drills, and exercises.
- Promote the One Microsoft culture and lead through change, bringing clarity and energy.
- Foster a safety and security culture in global data center operations.
- Develop positive relationships with internal teams and external stakeholders.
Activities:
- Engage with landlords, contractors, and internal teams to align on timelines and physical footprints.
- Review schedules proactively, manage expectations, and offer alternatives to meet SLAs and OLAs.
- Manage relationships with clients and suppliers, review SOWs, and track deliverables.
- Suggest risk reduction strategies for maintenance and coordinate schedules.
- Ensure service quality, safety, security, and customer experience are maintained; escalate issues as needed.
- Perform site inspections for audit readiness and lead corrective actions.
- Implement compliance strategies, onboard new facilities, and improve operational efficiencies.
- Complete quarterly compliance and audit tasks, including environmental and safety assessments.
- Maintain documentation related to environmental, emergency, and business continuity plans.
- Spend approximately 25% of time on the floor maintaining standards and compliance.
- Share best practices, mentor others, and promote safety, security, and compliance.
- Lead through change, embody Microsoft’s culture and values.
Required:
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent plus 1+ years of industry experience, or
- 2+ years of industry experience with college coursework.
Background Check:
- Must pass Microsoft, customer, and/or government security screenings, including the Microsoft Cloud Background Check every two years.
Preferred:
- 2+ years’ experience in critical infrastructure or physical IT infrastructure.
- Technical degree in related fields.
- Certifications such as CompTIA, Microsoft, Network Certifications, PMP, ITIL, or CDC.
