Overview
We have an urgent requirement Data Engineer with Microsoft Purview experience (mandatory) for our client in Abu Dhabi, UAE.
- Strong experience in Microsoft Purview for data cataloging, data lineage, metadata management, and data classification is MUST
- Strong experience in Azure Data Factory, Databricks / Apache Spark is MUST
- Strong experience in Advanced SQL + data modeling skills is MUST
We are currently seeking an experienced Data Engineer with strong expertise in Microsoft Purview to support data governance, cataloguing, and data engineering initiatives. The ideal candidate will design and maintain scalable data pipelines while ensuring data quality, security, and compliance across the data lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities- Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines and ETL/ELT processes for structured and unstructured data.
- Implement and manage data governance, data cataloguing, metadata management, and data lineage using Microsoft Purview.
- Collaborate with data architects, data scientists, and business stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver effective data solutions.
- Monitor and ensure data quality, accuracy, and integrity across data platforms.
- Develop and automate data workflows using tools such as Azure Data Factory, Databricks, Apache Spark, or equivalent.
- Support the definition and enforcement of data security, classification, and access control policies using Purview.
- Troubleshoot, optimize, and enhance data systems for performance and scalability.
- Document data engineering processes, metadata, and governance practices to meet audit and compliance requirements.
- Stay current with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in data engineering and governance.
Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a Data Engineer or in a similar role.
- Hands-on experience with Microsoft Purview for data governance, cataloguing, and classification.
- Strong proficiency in SQL and experience with cloud-based data platforms, preferably Microsoft Azure.
- Experience with ETL/ELT tools such as Azure Data Factory, Databricks, Apache Spark, or similar.
- Solid understanding of data modelling, data warehousing concepts, and big data technologies.
- Experience with scripting languages such as Python, Power Shell, or equivalent.
- Knowledge of data security, privacy regulations, and compliance standards.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
