Role SummaryWe are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Business Analyst Consultant with strong expertise in the insurance domain
, particularly across insurance operations and digital transformation initiatives
. The successful candidate will play a critical role in analyzing business processes, supporting regulatory initiatives, and driving digital transformation projects within the organization.
This role requires close collaboration with business and IT stakeholders to optimize insurance operations, enhance digital capabilities, and ensure regulatory and operational alignment.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct detailed analysis of existing insurance business processes and systems to identify improvement opportunities.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to gather, analyze, and document business requirements for insurance operations and digital transformation initiatives.
- Lead requirement-gathering activities for regulatory-driven projects.
- Define clear business objectives and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to measure project success.
- Partner with business teams to streamline processes, improve operational efficiency, and mitigate risks.
- Identify opportunities to optimize insurance contracts, pricing models, and risk assessment processes.
- Provide strategic recommendations to enhance insurance products and profitability.
- Lead and contribute to digital transformation initiatives focused on modernizing insurance systems and processes.
- Work closely with IT teams to translate business needs into technical requirements and ensure alignment with business goals.
- Stay current with emerging technologies, industry trends, and regulatory changes within the insurance sector.
- Utilize data analytics and visualization tools to derive actionable insights and support data-driven decision-making.
- Develop and maintain reports and dashboards to track project progress and KPI performance.
- Build strong working relationships with cross-functional teams including underwriting, actuarial, IT, QA, and external partners.
- Facilitate workshops, meetings, and requirement-gathering sessions to ensure stakeholder alignment.
- Produce comprehensive documentation, including business process flows, requirements specifications, and project plans, in line with industry best practices.
- Collaborate with QA and testing teams to develop and review test plans and test cases, particularly for policy servicing features.
- Participate in test execution, providing subject matter expertise to validate alignment with business requirements.
- Identify, track, and manage defects through to resolution in collaboration with development teams.
- Perform regression testing to ensure enhancements do not negatively impact existing functionality.
- Demonstrate flexibility and willingness to take on additional responsibilities as required, including change requests (CRs) and ad-hoc initiatives.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, or a related discipline.
- 7–8 years of experience as a Business Analyst within the insurance industry, with a strong focus on digital transformation.
- Solid understanding of insurance concepts, processes, products, and regulatory frameworks.
- Hands-on experience with data analysis and visualization tools.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and documentation skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders.
