The Data Quality Specialist is responsible for ensuring the accuracy, completeness, consistency, and reliability of enterprise data across systems and platforms. The role focuses on defining, implementing, and monitoring data quality standards, controls, and remediation processes to support trusted analytics, regulatory compliance, and data-driven decision-making. The Data Quality Specialist works closely with business, data engineering, and governance teams to continuously improve data quality and maturity.
KeyRoles & Responsibilities :
- Define, implement, and maintain enterprise data quality standards, rules, and metrics
- Perform data profiling and quality assessments to identify gaps, anomalies, and improvement areas
- Design and execute data quality controls, validations, and reconciliation checks across data pipelines and systems
- Monitor data quality performance and produce dashboards, scorecards, and reports
- Investigate data quality issues, perform root cause analysis, and recommend corrective and preventive actions
- Work with data engineers to embed data quality checks and automation into data pipelines
- Collaborate with business data owners and stewards to clarify data definitions, rules, and acceptance criteria
- Support the implementation of data governance frameworks, including issue management and escalation processes
- Ensure data quality practices align with regulatory, compliance, and audit requirements
- Track and manage data quality issues, remediation plans, and resolution status
- Contribute to the definition and maintenance of business glossaries and metadata
- Support key business initiatives by ensuring trusted and fit-for-purpose data
- Promote a data quality culture through awareness, guidance, and best practices
- Participate in continuous improvement of data management and governance maturity
Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, Data Science, or a related field
- Master’s degree is an advantage but not mandatory
- 7+ years of experience in data quality, data governance, data management, or analytics roles
- Proven experience defining and implementing data quality rules, metrics, and controls
