Senior Business Analyst

The Senior Business Analyst acts as the critical bridge between business objectives and technical AI execution. This role is responsible for driving the successful delivery of AI-powered solutions by translating complex business needs into actionable technical requirements and system specifications. You will ensure that every AI initiative is aligned with ethical, regulatory, and performance standards while supporting the end-to-end lifecycle—from initial elicitation and feasibility testing with Data Scientists to User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and change management.

Your goal is to ensure AI tools are not only technically sound but also practically integrated into banking workflows to drive measurable business value.

• Facilitation of workshops and interviews to gather and document business requirements, translating them into clear AI specifications for data inputs and model outputs.
• Partnering with Data Scientists and ML Engineers to validate the feasibility of AI use cases and ensure alignment with strategic business goals.
• Defining AI-specific test strategies, including model validation, bias detection, and performance benchmarking to ensure accuracy and fairness.
• Developing tailored training materials and user manuals to help staff understand AI confidence scores, outputs, and system limitations.
• Identifying high-impact opportunities for AI-driven automation and predictive analytics within existing banking processes.
• Acting as an "analytics translator," communicating complex requirements between business units and IT while ensuring traceability throughout the project lifecycle.
• Supporting, coaching and mentoring more junior members of the team, when required.
• Additional responsibilities on occasion, on management request.

• A Bachelor’s Degree in Computing, Engineering, Commerce, or Business Administration.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in professional business analysis.
• A proven track record of supporting AI/ML project life cycles, specifically in requirement documentation and UAT support.
• Experience navigating regulatory compliance and data governance within a financial services environment.
• Proven ability to convert vague business needs into precise technical metrics and performance benchmarks for AI systems.
• Experience in model validation techniques and a strong understanding of how to detect anomalies or bias in AI behavior.
• Expertise in maintaining detailed audit trails, versioning, and decision logic documentation for AI models.
• Deep understanding of data privacy regulations, ethical AI principles, and internal governance frameworks.
• Skilled in analysing complex workflows to find automation "hotspots" suitable for AI intervention.
• Strong experience in stakeholder management and excellent presentation and communication skills.

• Proven ability to explain "black box" AI concepts to non-technical users in a way that builds trust and promotes responsible usage.
• Familiarity with improving business analysis processes to support rapid, iterative AI development cycles.
• Ability to uncover "hidden" business needs that stakeholders may not yet realize can be solved by AI.
• A proactive mindset regarding the monitoring of AI model behavior for ethical concerns or performance drift.
