JOB TITLE: Junior Unified Communications / Voice Engineer

COMPANY: Al Masaood LLC

REPORTS TO: Infrastructure Operations Manager

MAIN GOALS AND OBJECTIVES

The Junior Unified Communications / Voice Engineer will support the implementation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of the organization’s voice and unified communications systems. The role involves assisting in managing VoIP, telephony, collaboration platforms, and related network infrastructure to ensure reliable communication services across the business.

The ideal candidate should have a basic understanding of networking and voice technologies, good problem-solving skills, and a willingness to learn and grow within the IT infrastructure and communications field.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Assist in maintaining and supporting unified communications systems such as voice, video, messaging, and collaboration tools.
  • Support installation and configuration of IP phones, voice gateways, switches, and communication systems.
  • Assist senior engineers in handling PABX systems and collaboration platforms.
  • Monitor voice systems and report any issues or performance concerns.
2. Technical Support & Troubleshooting
  • Provide first-level technical support for voice and UC-related issues.
  • Troubleshoot basic network, telephony, and connectivity problems.
  • Escalate complex technical issues to senior engineers when required.
  • Assist users with resolving communication and calling issues.
  • Support collaboration platforms such as Microsoft Teams and Cisco Webex.
  • Assist in managing voice services including SIP and VoIP systems.
  • Help maintain system documentation and update configuration records.
  • Perform routine system checks and assist with software or firmware updates.
4. User Support & Documentation
  • Provide basic user guidance and support for UC systems and communication tools.
  • Assist in preparing user guides and troubleshooting documents.
  • Help maintain reports related to system availability and performance.
  • Support the IT team in updating network diagrams and documentation.
  • Coordinate with vendors and service providers for support activities when required.
  • Work closely with internal IT teams to support daily operations.
  • Follow company IT security and operational procedures.
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • 1+ year of experience in IT support, networking, voice engineering, or unified communications. Fresh graduates with relevant internships or certifications are encouraged to apply.
  • Basic understanding of VoIP, SIP, IP Telephony, and networking concepts.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Teams, Cisco systems, or similar collaboration platforms is an advantage.
  • Basic knowledge of TCP/IP, routing, switching, and network troubleshooting.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • Willingness to learn and grow in the voice/network infrastructure field.
