The Delivery Manager is responsible for end-to-end delivery of technology and digital initiatives within an assigned portfolio, ensuring predictable, high-quality outcomes aligned to business priorities. The role requires strong ownership of scope, schedule, budget, risks, vendors, and stakeholder communication, while operating in an Agile/Hybrid delivery environment.
The Delivery Manager acts as the single point of accountability between Business, IT, Vendors, and Governance functions, and plays a critical role in execution discipline, delivery transparency, and value realization.
Key Responsibilities
Delivery & Execution
- Own end-to-end delivery of multiple concurrent initiatives across the project lifecycle: initiation, planning, execution, monitoring, and closure.
- Ensure delivery commitments are met within approved scope, timelines, and budgets.
- Drive delivery predictability through clear plans, dependency management, and proactive risk mitigation.
- Ensure quality of deliverables and adherence to enterprise delivery standards and governance.
- Act as primary delivery interface for senior business stakeholders and sponsors.
- Translate business objectives into executable delivery plans and measurable outcomes.
- Provide regular, concise, and transparent status updates covering progress, risks, issues, and mitigations.
- Manage expectations and resolve delivery conflicts pragmatically and professionally.
- Facilitate Agile or hybrid delivery models (Scrum / SAFe / Kanban as applicable).
- Enable high-performing, cross-functional teams including engineering, architecture, QA, security, and operations.
- Remove delivery impediments and enable teams to focus on execution.
- Coach teams on Agile discipline, delivery hygiene, and continuous improvement.
- Own delivery budgets including forecasting, burn tracking, and cost optimization.
- Manage third-party vendors and system integrators, including onboarding, performance management, and commercial adherence.
- Ensure vendor deliverables align with contractual commitments and internal expectations.
- Identify, track, and mitigate delivery risks, dependencies, and assumptions.
- Ensure compliance with internal governance, security, regulatory, and audit requirements.
- Maintain complete and current project documentation across all delivery stages.
- 8–15+ years of overall IT experience, with 5+ years in delivery / project / program management.
- Proven experience delivering large-scale enterprise initiatives, preferably within Banking or Financial Services.
- Strong understanding of Agile delivery methodologies and hybrid execution models.
- Demonstrated experience managing scope, time, cost, risks, and stakeholders.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage credibly at senior management level.
- Strong problem-solving, negotiation, and decision-making capabilities.
- Experience handling multiple projects or work streams in parallel.
- Experience delivering AI, data, digital, or automation programs.
- Exposure to cloud platforms, APIs, and modern enterprise architectures.
- Certifications such as PMP, SAFe, Scrum Master, or equivalent.
- Experience working in regulated environments (risk, compliance, audit).
- Strong ownership mindset with bias for action.
