Senior Database Administrator

The Senior Database Specialist supervises the administration and maintenance of diverse database systems, ensuring optimal system support. By overseeing database operations, this role contributes significantly to the organization's efficiency, data integrity, and overall success.

• Design and implement Oracle RAC environments from scratch on Solaris, including LDOM and Linux.
• Configure and manage Oracle Grid Infrastructure, ASM, and Data Guard.
• Architect and manage advanced clustering for high availability and disaster recovery across all database platforms.
• Perform cross‑platform database migrations (Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL, Postgre
  
  SQL) across on‑prem and cloud environments (Azure, OCI, AWS).
• Administer and optimize SQL Server Always On, FCI, Azure, and on‑prem migrations.
• Administer MySQL Galera clusters, InnoDB Cluster, and Postgre
  
  SQL Patroni‑based HA clusters.
• Design and implement comprehensive database security frameworks across all platforms.
• Implement and manage Database Activity Monitoring (DAM) solutions for real‑time monitoring, alerting, and threat detection.
• Manage authentication, authorization, and role‑based access control (RBAC) aligned with least privilege principles.
• Implement advanced encryption mechanisms (TDE, data‑at‑rest, SSL/TLS for data‑in‑transit).
• Configure and manage database auditing and monitoring (Oracle Unified Auditing, SQL Server Audit, Postgre
  
  SQL, MySQL logging).
• Perform database hardening, vulnerability assessments, and security benchmarking (CIS best practices).
• Ensure compliance with enterprise security policies and regulatory standards.
• Manage patching, security updates, and proactive risk mitigation.
• Integrate databases with enterprise identity and access systems (LDAP, Active Directory, IAM).
• Collaborate with security teams for SIEM integration, monitoring, and incident response.
• Work closely with network security layers (Firewalls, WAF, Load Balancers) to ensure end‑to‑end protection.
• Ensure secure database and application architecture design, including secure access patterns and data protection strategies.
• Work on database integrations with enterprise applications, middleware, and APIs.
• Contribute to application and infrastructure architecture design (LB, WAF, Firewall layers).
• Perform advanced performance tuning and troubleshooting in clustered environments.
• Manage backup, recovery, and DR drills across all database platforms.
• Ensure business continuity, failover readiness, and system resilience.
• Develop automation scripts using Shell/bash and Python.
• Obtain Oracle certifications (OCP, OCM) and experience with automation tools (Ansible, Terraform).
• Exposure to container platforms (Docker, Kubernetes).

• Strong hands‑on experience with Solaris including LDOM and Linux environments.
• Proficiency with Oracle Grid Infrastructure, ASM, Data Guard, RAC.
• Experience with SQL Server Always On, FCI.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
• Minimum 5+ years of experience in database administration across multiple platforms.
• Proven track record of designing and implementing high availability and disaster recovery solutions.
• Experience managing cross‑platform migrations between on‑prem and cloud environments.
• Strong background in database security, auditing, encryption, and patch management.
• Excellent problem‑solving skills and the ability to work in a fast‑paced, multi‑disciplinary environment.
