Systems Administrator – AIX

Responsibilities

• Manage and support AIX and IBM Power environments.
• Ensure high availability and reliability using GPFS and PowerHA cluster.
• Perform AIX performance monitoring, tuning, and capacity planning.
• Manage backup, restore, and disaster recovery processes.
• Implement AIX security best practices and access controls; drive hardening activities in line with organizational standards.
• Ensure compliance with internal and regulatory security frameworks and work with the compliance team to finalize and implement baseline security controls.
• Coordinate and execute patching activities across AIX environments, work with enterprise patching tools such as Satellite, and maintain and document the patch execution tracker.
• Collaborate with the Vulnerability Management team to analyze and remediate findings from Qualys reports; track, prioritize, and close security vulnerabilities within defined timelines.
• Work closely with application, infrastructure, and security teams to support change management and release activities; maintain SOPs, documentation, and audit readiness artifacts.
• Actively participate in a 24x7 on‑call rotation, providing support for critical incidents and escalations and ensuring timely resolution of production issues and service restoration.

• 4–7 years of experience in AIX administration.
• Strong expertise in AIX performance tuning and troubleshooting.
• Knowledge of security, compliance, and hardening practices.
• Experience in enterprise patch management tools.
• Familiarity with Qualys or similar vulnerability management platforms.
• Good communication and coordination skills.

• Experience in large enterprise or banking environments.
• Exposure to regulatory and audit frameworks.
• Knowledge of monitoring, backup, and automation tools.
