Security Assurance Specialist, UAE, AWS Compliance and Security Assurance
Overview
Amazon obsesses over customers and prioritizes delivering secure cloud solutions. The role focuses on supporting AWS's cybersecurity initiatives in the UAE region, working across stakeholders—including internal teams and external customers—to design compliant solutions for complex challenges.

Key Responsibilities- Work with customers and regulators to demonstrate Amazon security controls that meet local requirements and help customers understand how our infrastructure is designed, operated, maintained, and protected in accordance with global regulated industry standards.
- Dive deep into the Amazon control environment to develop a broad domain and technical understanding of our security activities and control implementations, then articulate compliance implications to customers and internal/external audit functions.
- Develop an understanding of regulated‑industry compliance requirements and communicate how we control activities to meet global regulatory obligations.
- Liaise with customers, regulators, and auditors; articulate control implementation and describe considerations for applying security and compliance concepts to monitor, evaluate, and continuously improve the organization as a trusted advisor, facilitator and creative problem solver.
- Implement continuous improvements to the security organization and program‑management process, and share program/project process frameworks, tools, and best practices that can be adopted throughout the organization.
- Apply a working knowledge of global information‑security regulations and policy to articulate customer and control impact, and drive alignment to Amazon controls.
On any given day, you will work directly with customers to respond to their assurance needs, help third‑party auditors understand the AWS control environment, and discuss with regulators how AWS views cloud security. You will also collaborate with AWS service teams to explain how technology works beneath the surface and translate that knowledge into meaningful security and compliance outcomes.
Qualifications- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Information Security, Computer Science, Risk Management, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related discipline, or equivalent technology experience.
- 5+ years of experience performing and/or participating in IT audits and assessments of highly technical cloud‑based environments.
- 5+ years working in highly regulated industries (e.g., financial services, healthcare, energy, telecommunications).
- Business‑level proficiency in English (verbal and written) and Arabic (verbal).
- 5+ years of experience in one or more of the following: big data, Dev Ops, security, systems administration, software development, cloud technology.
- 1+ industry‑recognized security, cloud, or audit professional certifications (e.g., CISA, CISM, CISSP, CCSP, Amazon Cloud Practitioner).
