Role Purpose
The Technical Architect is responsible for defining and governing end-to-end technical architecture for complex banking systems. The role ensures that solutions are scalable, secure, and aligned with enterprise architecture standards
, while guiding engineering teams across the full delivery lifecycle.

- Lead the design of technical architectures and solution blueprints for complex banking systems
- Define high‑level architecture models (HLDs), solution architecture diagrams, integration patterns and system interactions
- Ensure alignment with enterprise architecture principles and standards
- Evaluate and recommend technology stacks and platforms
- Define and oversee integration strategies across core banking systems, digital banking platforms, middleware and third‑party systems
- Guide engineering teams on API design, microservices architecture, data flow and system interoperability
- Ensure seamless integration across distributed systems
- Design solutions that ensure high availability, fault tolerance and scalability under peak loads
- Define performance benchmarks and capacity‑planning strategies
- Identify and mitigate performance bottlenecks at the design stage
- Embed security‑by‑design principles into architecture solutions
- Ensure systems comply with internal security policies and banking regulatory requirements
- Guide teams on secure architecture patterns, identity and access management integration and data protection and encryption strategies
- Ensure adherence to architectural governance frameworks across projects
- Participate in architecture review boards (ARB) and design approvals
- Define and enforce architecture standards, design principles and technology guidelines
- Provide oversight to ensure consistent implementation
- Collaborate with business stakeholders, product owners, engineering and Dev Ops teams
- Translate business requirements into technical solutions
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to engineering teams
- Communicate architecture decisions effectively to both technical and non‑technical audiences
- Evaluate emerging technologies and industry trends
- Drive innovation in cloud adoption (AWS/Azure), microservices and containerization, API‑driven architectures
- Contribute to long‑term technology strategy and roadmap
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology or a related field
- 8–10 years of experience in software engineering, system design and architecture
- Proven experience designing complex, enterprise‑scale systems
- Experience in banking or financial services is strongly preferred
- Demonstrated ability to lead architecture initiatives across multiple projects
- Strong expertise in system design, architecture patterns, microservices, APIs and distributed systems
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS and/or Azure) and integration technologies
- Knowledge of security architecture principles, performance optimization and scalability techniques
- Familiarity with Dev Ops and CI/CD practices, data architecture concepts
- TOGAF (mandatory / strongly preferred)
- AWS Certified Solutions Architect or Microsoft Azure Solutions Architect Expert
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
