For a globally diversified investment organization that prudently invests funds on behalf of the Government of Abu Dhabi, we are currently seeking three highly skilled L2 Data Ops Engineers to join an on-site team in Abu Dhabi. This role focuses on ensuring the stability, reliability, and health of Lakehouse environments and production data pipelines in the financial domain while leading the end-to-end management of production incidents, coordinating cross‑functional teams, communicating with stakeholders, and driving continuous operational improvements through post‑incident analysis.
Key Responsibilities- Own and resolve L2 incidents across enterprise Lakehouse data platforms
- Perform deep‑dive operational diagnostics across batch and streaming data pipelines
- Coordinate across Data Engineering, Platform Engineering, and business/data domain teams
- Manage incident lifecycle using ITSM tools (e.g., Service Now), ensuring proper tracking and escalation
- Leverage metadata, lineage, and documentation to support root cause analysis
- Drive incident reduction through structured problem and recurring issue management
- Strong experience in Data Ops or L2 production support roles
- Hands‑on experience with Lakehouse platforms (e.g., Databricks, Delta Lake, or equivalent)
- Strong background in incident management, ITSM practices, and RCA (root cause analysis)
- Experience troubleshooting complex data pipelines (batch and streaming)
- Solid understanding of data observability, lineage, and metadata‑driven environments
- Proven ability to own production incidents end‑to‑end
- Exposure to financial data domains (portfolio, trading, market, or risk data)
- Experience in investment management or financial services environments
This is a contract‑based opportunity that may turn into a full‑time role with the Client. It requires on‑site presence in Abu Dhabi with a commitment of 40 hours per week. Please note that the hiring process includes a background check.
