Black & Grey HR is recruiting for a leading investment group in the UAE. Our client is looking to hire a Data Engineering Consultant with strong Snowflake expertise to support retail data transformation efforts. The role is centered on enabling advanced analytics across customer, sales, inventory, and supply chain functions, while also leveraging AI-derived insights to drive improvements in demand forecasting, personalisation, and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities- Contribute to the development and upkeep of data pipelines within Snowflake.
- Provide support for ETL/ELT processes involving retail datasets (POS, e-commerce, inventory, CRM).
- Work alongside senior data engineers and analysts to maintain data quality and reliability.
- Gain practical experience in applying Cortex AI capabilities to retail use cases such as recommendations and forecasting.
- Document data processes, pipelines, and model designs.
- Monitor pipeline performance and assist with troubleshooting when issues arise.
- Respond to ad-hoc data requests originating from business stakeholders.
- 3+ years of Data Engineering experience, ideally within retail or e-commerce environments.
- Solid, practical experience with the Snowflake Data Cloud.
- Strong command of SQL and Python.
- Familiarity with ETL/ELT tools (e.g., dbt, Airflow, or similar).
- Experience working with BI platforms such as Tableau, Power BI, or Looker.
- Snowflake or cloud-related certifications are considered a plus.
- Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving capabilities.
- Ability to interpret retail business needs and translate them into data-driven solutions.
- Good communication skills, comfortable interacting with both technical teams and business users.
- Agile delivery mindset and ability to manage stakeholder relationships effectively.
