Cross-Platform Systems Engineer

Your role

• Install configure and maintain software applications on Windows Server and various Linux distributions (e.g. Ubuntu CentOS RHEL).
• Build and deploy applications using appropriate tool chains on both platforms.
• Create and maintain automation scripts for deployment and configuration (e.g. Power Shell Bash Ansible etc.).
• Manage OS-level configuration package installations and security updates.
• Troubleshoot system and application issues logs and performance metrics.
• Work with development and operations teams to support the full application lifecycle.
• Document installation and configuration procedures across platforms.
• Maintain version control of configuration scripts and deployment pipelines.

• 5 years of experience in a systems engineering or Dev Ops role supporting both Windows Server and Linux environments.
• Strong experience with application installation configuration and performance tuning.
• Familiarity with building applications from source (e.g. compiling code managing dependencies).
• Proficiency with scripting languages:
  Power Shell and Bash (Python is a plus).
• Experience with package managers (e.g. APT YUM).
• Understanding of systemd services and daemons on Linux.
• Knowledge of Windows services and scheduled tasks.
• Experience with virtualization or containerization technologies (e.g. Hyper‑V VMware Docker).
• Familiarity with CI/CD tools is a plus (e.g. Jenkins Git Hub Actions Azure Dev Ops).

• Certifications such as Microsoft Certified:
  Windows Server Administrator or Linux Professional Institute Certification (LPIC).
• Experience in a multi-cloud or hybrid cloud environment.
• Familiarity with network configuration and security hardening on both platforms.

• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
• Excellent communication and documentation abilities.
• Able to work independently and collaboratively in a cross‑functional team.
