IT Operations Engineer (Outsource)
Location: Abu Dhabi
Role PurposeMonitor performance of on‑shift operators and provide assistance when needed. Educate system operators regarding roles, responsibilities, and authority. Execute daily operation tasks (Start of Day & End of Day) for IT Back Office (Core Banking and Branch Automation) as per IT Operations manual. Monitor IT systems for known problems and abnormal behavior, involve seniors to resolve and reduce downtime. Execute backup operations of all systems.
Enhance existing operational procedure. Involved in DR and BCP activities.
Participate in the implementation of all operation procedures and controls related to banking applications and elevate major problems to the concerned specialist.
End of Day Processing ControlsWork closely with IT Management to enhance controls in existing operation tasks to minimize risk of mistakes and improve performance of daily, monthly, and quarter‑end processes.
Backup of the SystemsSupervise daily, monthly, and infinite backup tapes as per ADIB Backup Policy.
System Monitoring and Maintenance- Monitor environmental conditions in the Data Centers.
- Inform and alert Manager and concerned staff for any interruption in services due to hardware or software problems.
- Ensure that only authorized personnel are allowed access to the data centers and report any attempted unauthorized access to the designated Security Officer.
- Assist in monitoring the performance of all computer systems using tools and utilities.
- Coordinate with hardware vendors and engineers in preventive maintenance and ensure those are performed in a timely manner; report such activities to the IT Operations Team Leader and System Engineers.
- Check the call center, ATM switches, SMS card center and other delivery channels; generate required reports for different departments and report any problems to the related system engineer.
- Take care of ATM‑related problems and escale to the vendor if needed.
Initiate and document all incidents related to system availability and performance; elevate to the appropriate departments within the IT Division.
Documentation / Process OwnershipMaintain and update documented processes or documentation related to the role. When processes or documentation are shared, inform the owner of any required changes or improvements.
ReportsProvide progress reports in a timely manner, including tasks, projects, incidents, and ad hoc requirements.
AutomationImplement automation required to perform responsibilities and targets after obtaining appropriate approval.
Adherence to ITD and Bank PoliciesFollow all internal and external processes and security reporting immediately for any potential or actual weaknesses, risks, and incidents noted or observed.
Monthly Customer StatementsGenerate monthly statements, convert, encrypt them, and send to EDC for printing.
Information Security- Maintain information security related to ADIB throughout employment.
- Report any potential or actual risks or incidents affecting the security of information to the helpdesk.
Basic IT infrastructure knowledge is required.
Previous Experience and Qualifications4 or 5 years of IT experience (preferred in IT Operations).
