The Senior Engineer – DC Network Engineering will be responsible for engineering and optimizing Core
42 Data Centre Networks (DCN), ensuring highly resilient, scalable, and secure network infrastructure to support cloud and AI workloads. The role focuses on deployment, operations, troubleshooting, automation, and continuous optimization of network and security infrastructure across Core
42 environments.
You will work closely with internal teams, vendors, and service providers to deliver highly available networking solutions, support complex cloud architectures, and ensure operational excellence aligned with organizational objectives.
YourKey Responsibilities
- Engineer and optimize Core
42 Data Centre Network (DCN) infrastructure, including traffic optimization, resiliency deployment, hardware utilization, and cabling design - Plan and implement network and network security optimizations on a regular basis
- Provide final-tier technical resolution and escalation support for L2 operations and vendor technical engagements
- Deliver L3 troubleshooting and root-cause analysis within defined SLAs
- Review and approve BOQs for network hardware, cabling, and infrastructure expansion
- Approve and maintain configuration baseline templates and security hardening standards aligned with best practices
- Review and validate HLD/LLD documentation for cloud and data centre network expansions
- Design scalable WAN/LAN architectures including routers, switches, firewalls, and encryption technologies
- Coordinate with WAN service providers to optimize network connectivity solutions for cloud and client environments
- Prepare and review User Acceptance Testing (UAT) documentation and support complex HA and failover testing activities
- Plan and execute complex change requests, migrations, maintenance windows, and deployment activities
- Develop and maintain network automation scripts using Python and related scripting technologies
- Support software-defined networking (SDN) technologies including overlay network validation and traffic flow analysis
- Monitor and verify overlay network services using SDN and virtualization tools
- Participate in technical meetings with internal stakeholders, vendors, and clients
- Present Core
42 networking and cloud solutions to customers and stakeholders - Participate in technical interviews and candidate evaluations for network engineering roles
- Support field deployment activities and onsite technical operations when required
- Continuously enhance technical expertise through training, certifications, and professional development initiatives
- Support NOC and L1/L2 teams during operational shifts and on-call activities
- Maintain strict confidentiality of credentials, authentication tokens, and sensitive information
- Manage network assets in accordance with vendor recommendations and industry best practices
- Prioritize and triage incidents, tasks, and change requests based on operational severity
- Ensure timely project and task delivery while escalating risks or delays appropriately
- Maintain accurate and version-controlled documentation for all network changes and deployments
- Escalate incidents and technical issues within SLA timelines
- Comply with applicable laws, regulations, international standards, and Core
42 policies and procedures - Adhere to information security, privacy, business continuity, and HSE requirements
- Report security, HSE, and operational incidents through established reporting channels
- Ensure proper handling, classification, and confidentiality of organizational information
- Authorized to reprioritize change requests, incidents, and operational tasks
- Authorized to access and configure critical network infrastructure and asset management systems
- Authorized to communicate directly with vendors to expedite technical resolutions
- Authorized to open and manage technical support cases with vendors
- Authorized to conduct peer reviews and approvals within ticketing systems
- Authorized to create and manage incidents, changes, service requests, and operational tasks
- Authorized to update and maintain technical documentation repositories
- Authorized to access Core
42 network devices according to approved authorization levels - Authorized to visit customer sites for deployment activities and technical presentations
- Authorized to evaluate and recommend candidates for network engineering positions
