Cloud Architect

We are looking for an experienced Freelance Cloud Architect for a 6-month assignment based in Abu Dhabi
.

The consultant will support cloud architecture and infrastructure activities across enterprise environments, including cloud, virtualization, container platforms, storage, backup, database and resiliency solutions.

This is a freelance assignment
, not a permanent employment role.

• Design and support cloud architecture across Microsoft Azure and AWS environments.
• Provide guidance on cloud architecture best practices, scalability, security and operational resilience.
• Work with virtualization technologies, especially VMware
  .
• Support cloud and container operations, including deployment and operation of containerized workloads using Docker and Kubernetes or managed container platforms.
• Use Infrastructure as Code and automation tools such as Terraform, Helm and Kubernetes manifests
  .
• Implement and support secure operational practices, including IAM, RBAC, secrets management and access controls
  .
• Support IT Service Management processes including Incident Management, Problem Management, Configuration Management, Change Management and Patch Management
  .
• Configure and manage enterprise storage solutions including SAN and NAS
  .
• Support backup and recovery solutions such as Rubrik, Veeam and native cloud backup solutions across Azure, AWS and Google Cloud.
• Provide technical input on database design and cloud database solutions, including Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server and Azure/AWS cloud databases
  .
• Support operational resiliency through configuration and management of Enterprise Vault or Cyber Vault solutions.

• Minimum 15+ years of experience in cloud architecture, infrastructure or enterprise technology environments.
• Strong experience with MS Azure, AWS, VMware, cloud computing technologies and architecture best practices
  .
• Practical experience with Docker, Kubernetes and container operations
  .
• Strong knowledge of Infrastructure as Code
  , including Terraform, Helm or Kubernetes manifests.
• Good understanding of enterprise security and access controls, including IAM, RBAC and secrets management.
• Strong understanding of ITSM processes such as incident, problem, change, configuration and patch management.
• Hands-on experience with SAN, NAS, backup, recovery and resiliency solutions
  .
• Experience with Rubrik, Veeam and native cloud backup solutions.
• Knowledge of databases including Oracle, MS SQL and cloud databases
  .
• Experience with Enterprise Vault or Cyber Vault is highly preferred.

The ideal consultant is a senior cloud/infrastructure architect who can operate independently in a freelance capacity, engage with technical stakeholders, assess existing environments, recommend best-practice architecture and support implementation across cloud, virtualization, container, storage, backup, database and resiliency domains.
