Senior Application Support Engineer

We're partnering with a major financial exchange in Abu Dhabi to find a Senior Application Support Engineer to join their Technology & Digital division.

You'll provide expert-level support for mission-critical applications, leading troubleshooting, incident resolution, and systems optimisation across the organisation. This is a technically deep role with real ownership and cross-functional visibility.

• Providing advanced technical support for complex applications, ensuring minimal downtime.
• Leading incident identification, root cause analysis, and resolution within SLA frameworks.
• Conducting continuous monitoring of core applications and performing performance tuning.
• Maintaining detailed documentation — configs, SOPs, runbooks, and knowledge base articles.
• Installing and upgrading software, integrating automation processes for system efficiency.
• Leading backup operations and ensuring robust disaster recovery procedures.
• Engaging with end-users, internal teams, vendors, and external auditors as a technical point of contact.
• Mentoring junior team members and contributing to team development.
• Ensuring compliance with security standards and regulatory requirements.

• Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, Business Information Systems, or related field.
• 6–8 years of experience in a Securities/Stock Exchange or financial institution environment.
• Certifications in Azure, AWS, Sitecore Next.js, Microsoft CRM D365, or Software AG preferred.
• In-depth knowledge of application architecture, databases, and troubleshooting methodologies.
• Scripting languages and automation tools experience.
• Strong communicator who can engage across technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Proactive, analytical mindset with a focus on continuous improvement.
