Job Overview

In the Applied Scientist role you will play a crucial part in pioneering research and development across various facets of AI, including but not limited to computer vision, natural language processing, and audio signal processing. Your work will involve creating and optimizing cutting‑edge AI algorithms and deep learning models, contributing to advancements in semantic understanding, multidimensional data interpretation, and human‑machine interactions.

Your innovative efforts will be applied to a spectrum of practical use cases, serving pivotal industries such as finance, oil and gas, environmental science, and healthcare, thereby driving forward impactful AI solutions in real‑world scenarios.

• Engage in the design, analysis, and optimization of foundational and applied research to power state‑of‑the‑art AI algorithms and model capabilities at Inception.
• Develop comprehensive solutions that integrate multiple modalities—text, audio, and visual data—to enhance AI’s ability to understand and interpret human interaction with greater nuance.
• Collaborate with researchers and engineers across teams to design, develop, and continually improve AI algorithms, ensuring implementations are optimized for efficiency, reliability, and scalability.
• Work alongside product development teams to integrate new algorithms and models into broader product offerings and conduct proofs of concept (POC) per client needs.
• Propose scenarios where AI techniques could improve the efficiency of a customer’s business and provide pre‑sales and post‑sales technical support to the business development team.
• Measure success through cost savings achieved, number of use cases investigated and datasets mined, number of innovations/POCs deployed, number of existing processes optimized, and customer NPS.

• M.Sc. or Ph.D. degree in computer science, engineering, or an AI‑related field.
• Specialization in Computer Vision, Natural Language Processing, or Speech and Audio highly desirable.
• Minimum 6 years of experience in developing AI algorithms across various modalities.
• Track record of conducting high‑level research, preferably evidenced by publications in peer‑reviewed journals or a history of product‑driven research and development.
• Highly curious and inquisitive approach to problem‑solving.
• In‑depth knowledge of the latest developments in AI and machine learning.
• Excellent communication skills.
