Job DescriptionThe College of Information Technology (CIT), United Arab Emirates University (UAEU), invites applications for a Postdoctoral Fellow to work on a UAEU Strategic Research funded project titled: "Development of Machine Learning Assisted Metamaterials for Terahertz Photonics Applications." The project focuses on the design, optimization, fabrication, and characterization of terahertz (THz) metamaterials using machine learning, deep learning, generative AI, and inverse design approaches.
The postdoctoral fellow will play a key role in developing ML models for predicting and optimizing metamaterial parameters, validating results through electromagnetic simulations, and supporting experimental verification.
Ph.D. in Computer Science, Information Technology, Artificial Intelligence, or a closely related field
Preferred Qualification Expected Skills- Research experience in machine learning / deep learning applied to physical systems
- Knowledge of metamaterials, photonics, or electromagnetic simulations
- Experience with Python and ML libraries (e.g., Scikit-learn, PyTorch, Tensor Flow)
- Familiarity with inverse design, generative AI, or multi-output regression models
- Experience working with simulation-driven datasets
- Strong publication record in peer-reviewed journals or conferences
- Ability to work in interdisciplinary and international research teams
