An experienced Head of Information Technology is required for a senior technology leadership opportunity in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. This executive-level role is designed for strategic IT leaders with more than 15 years of progressive technology leadership experience and proven expertise in digital transformation, enterprise IT strategy, cybersecurity, infrastructure, enterprise applications, IT governance, stakeholder management, and team leadership.
The Head of Information Technology will be responsible for leading enterprise-wide technology initiatives and developing an IT strategy aligned with organisational objectives. The successful candidate will oversee critical technology functions, including cybersecurity, enterprise infrastructure, business applications, digital transformation programmes, technology governance, vendor relationships, and the development of high-performing IT teams.
This position offers significant potential for executive career growth and professional development through strategic responsibility for enterprise technology transformation and business enablement. Key Responsibilities- Develop and execute an enterprise-wide IT strategy aligned with organisational objectives and long-term business priorities.
- Lead digital transformation initiatives designed to improve operational efficiency, customer experience, business scalability, and organisational performance.
- Provide strategic leadership across cybersecurity, enterprise infrastructure, applications, IT governance, and technology operations.
- Establish and maintain a robust technology roadmap supporting current and future business requirements.
- Lead enterprise-wide technology initiatives from strategy and planning through implementation and continuous improvement.
- Oversee cybersecurity strategy, information security controls, technology risk management, and organisational cyber resilience.
- Manage enterprise applications and ensure business systems effectively support operational and strategic objectives.
- Oversee IT infrastructure, networks, systems, cloud technologies, and other critical technology environments.
- Establish effective IT governance frameworks, policies, procedures, standards, and performance measures.
- Lead, develop, mentor, and retain high-performing technology teams.
- Build strong relationships with senior executives, business leaders, internal stakeholders, technology partners, and external vendors.
- Manage strategic vendor relationships, contract negotiations, service performance, and technology procurement activities.
- Ensure effective technology budgeting, resource allocation, cost optimisation, and investment prioritisation.
- Identify emerging technologies and evaluate their potential business value and strategic relevance.
- Ensure technology platforms and services are secure, scalable, resilient, reliable, and aligned with organisational requirements.
- Drive continuous improvement across technology processes, service delivery, governance, security, and operational performance.
- Support business continuity, disaster recovery, technology risk management, and organisational resilience initiatives.
- Communicate technology strategy, project performance, risks, priorities, and investment requirements to senior leadership and key stakeholders.
- Minimum of 15 years of progressive professional experience in information technology leadership.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Proven experience developing and executing enterprise IT strategy.
- Demonstrated leadership of large-scale digital transformation initiatives.
- Strong expertise in cybersecurity, enterprise applications, IT infrastructure, and IT governance.
- Experience leading enterprise-wide technology programmes and complex organisational change.
- Strong leadership capabilities with experience developing and managing high-performing technology teams.
- Excellent stakeholder management, executive communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Strong vendor management, contract negotiation, and commercial decision-making capabilities.
- Experience managing complex technology environments and strategic IT investments.
- Strong understanding of technology risk, cybersecurity governance, business continuity, and disaster recovery.
- Ability to align technology capabilities and investments with strategic business objectives.
- Experience with in logistics, transportation, mobility, or automotive services industries is highly preferred.
