Head of Enterprise IT - Airlines

Synopsis

We are seeking an experienced and visionary Head of Enterprise IT to lead our technology operations in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. In this pivotal role, you will oversee the entire IT infrastructure, strategy, and operations for our organisation, ensuring alignment with business objectives whilst maintaining the highest standards of security, efficiency, and service delivery. The successful candidate will be a decisive leader with a strong analytical mindset, capable of driving digital transformation and managing complex enterprise systems across the organisation.

Accountabilities

• Develop and execute comprehensive IT strategy and roadmap aligned with organisational business goals and digital transformation initiatives
• Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of enterprise-level IT infrastructure, systems, and applications
• Lead, mentor, and manage a diverse IT team, fostering a culture of excellence, continuous improvement, and professional development
• Establish and enforce IT governance frameworks, security policies, and compliance standards in accordance with regional and international regulations
• Manage IT budgets, vendor relationships, and procurement processes to optimise cost-effectiveness and service quality
• Analyse business requirements and translate them into scalable technical solutions that enhance operational efficiency
• Implement robust disaster recovery and business continuity planning to ensure organisational resilience
• Drive change management initiatives and oversee the adoption of new technologies and systems across the enterprise
• Monitor IT performance metrics, conduct regular audits, and produce strategic reports for senior leadership
• Collaborate with cross-functional departments to identify technology needs and deliver innovative solutions
• Ensure data security, cybersecurity governance, and compliance with relevant industry standards and regulations

Education & Experience

• Minimum 10 years of progressive experience in IT leadership and management roles
• Minimum 5 years of hands‑on experience managing enterprise‑level IT infrastructure and operations
• Extensive knowledge of SAP S4 and Finance Process
• Extensive knowledge of Successfactors and HR related processes
• Strong delivery record in waterfall and agile IT Projects
• Airline domain and systems knowledge, such as revenue accounting, refunds etc.
• AI Accreditations and certifications
• Proven expertise in IT strategy development and digital transformation initiatives
• Strong people skills with demonstrated ability to lead, develop, and motivate high‑performing teams
• Advanced knowledge of enterprise systems architecture and IT service management
• Proficiency in IT governance frameworks, risk management, and compliance standards
• Experience with vendor management, contract negotiation, and budget management
• Excellent analytical and problem‑solving capabilities with a detail-oriented approach
• Strong organisational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment

The role is based in Abu Dhabi and requires candidates to work onsite on a full‑time basis.
