This role is ideal for infrastructure professionals with strong experience managing mission-critical banking systems, enterprise storage solutions, server administration, automation, disaster recovery, and operational support.

As a Systems Administrator - UNIX & Storage (Linux), you will be responsible for managing, maintaining, and optimizing enterprise UNIX/Linux environments supporting critical banking applications and services. You will oversee server administration, storage management, system performance, backup and recovery processes, security hardening, and operational automation initiatives. The successful candidate will work closely with infrastructure, application, database, network, and security teams to ensure high availability, reliability, and compliance across banking technology environments.
This role requires strong troubleshooting capabilities, technical documentation skills, and expertise in enterprise storage platforms and Linux administration.
- Administer and maintain UNIX/Linux server environments supporting banking operations.
- Manage server partitions, file systems, Logical Volume Manager (LVM), and storage resources.
- Administer and support enterprise Storage Area Network (SAN) and Network Attached Storage (NAS) environments.
- Monitor system health, availability, capacity, and performance.
- Perform system tuning and optimization to improve reliability and scalability.
- Implement and maintain system security hardening and compliance controls.
- Manage backup, restoration, and disaster recovery processes.
- Develop and maintain shell scripts and automation solutions.
- Troubleshoot operating system, storage, and infrastructure-related issues.
- Support infrastructure upgrades, patch management, and platform maintenance activities.
- Create and maintain technical documentation, standard operating procedures, and operational runbooks.
- Provide operational support and collaborate with internal IT teams during incident management activities.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline.
- 5-10 years of hands-on experience in UNIX/Linux Systems Administration.
- Banking or Financial Services industry experience (Mandatory).
- Strong Linux system administration expertise.
- Experience managing UNIX/Linux servers in enterprise production environments.
- Strong knowledge of file systems, storage administration, and Logical Volume Manager (LVM).
- Hands-on experience with SAN and NAS storage technologies.
- Experience with backup, recovery, and disaster recovery planning.
- Knowledge of system performance monitoring and capacity management.
- Strong scripting and automation skills using Shell, Bash, or related scripting languages.
- Experience implementing security hardening and infrastructure best practices.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-resolution capabilities.
- Excellent documentation and operational support skills.
- RHCSA (Red Hat Certified System Administrator)
- RHCE (Red Hat Certified Engineer)
- CompTIA Linux+
- VMware Certifications
- Experience supporting core banking systems and mission-critical applications.
- Knowledge of virtualization platforms and VMware environments.
- Experience with enterprise monitoring and infrastructure management tools.
- Exposure to cloud infrastructure and hybrid environments.
- Knowledge of ITIL processes and banking regulatory compliance requirements.
