42 is seeking an experienced Applied Scientist to develop advanced AI/ML and Generative AI algorithms and contribute to research, product development, and AI-driven innovation. The role involves working across emerging technologies including Large Language Models (LLMs), Natural Language Processing (NLP), Computer Vision, Speech and Audio AI, and Multimodal AI.
The successful candidate will combine strong AI research capabilities with practical product-development expertise. Responsibilities include designing and optimizing algorithms, working with complex datasets, developing multimodal AI solutions, researching emerging AI trends, and collaborating with research, engineering, and product teams to deliver innovative proof-of-concept and production-oriented solutions.

Key Responsibilities- Design, analyze, and optimize advanced AI/ML algorithms.
- Develop Generative AI algorithms and AI-centric models and applications.
- Research emerging developments and trends in artificial intelligence and machine learning.
- Analyze and work with complex datasets to develop innovative AI solutions.
- Build multimodal AI solutions using text, audio, and visual data.
- Work with LLMs, NLP, Computer Vision, Speech AI, and related technologies.
- Improve AI algorithms for efficiency, reliability, scalability, and performance.
- Collaborate with AI researchers, engineers, and development teams.
- Work with product teams to develop proof-of-concept solutions and innovative AI applications.
- Identify opportunities where AI can improve customer businesses and processes.
- Contribute to product-driven research and development initiatives.
- Provide technical support during pre-sales and post-sales activities.
- Support customer-centric AI solution development and technical partnerships.
- Contribute to AI research and innovation through publications and other research outputs where applicable.
- M.Sc. or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, or a related field.
- Minimum 6 years of experience developing AI algorithms
. - Strong expertise in AI/ML and Generative AI.
- Specialization in one or more of the following is highly desirable:
- Computer Vision
- Natural Language Processing (NLP)
- Speech and Audio AI
- Multimodal AI
- Strong knowledge of Deep Learning and Machine Learning.
- Experience with LLMs and Generative AI technologies.
- Strong understanding of AI algorithm development and optimization.
- Proven experience in high-level AI research.
- Research publications in peer-reviewed journals are highly desirable.
- Experience in product-driven research and development.
- Strong Python and machine learning development skills.
- Experience developing and evaluating AI proof-of-concept solutions.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and research capabilities.
