Field Engineer - X- Sites
Operate as part of a two-person resident team at the largest sites in the estate with coverage split across infrastructure and end-user domains and full cross-cover capability Covers 23 sites with 46 engineers at a 2 1 ratio
KEY RESPONSIBILITIESProvide extended-hours coverage through shift rotation with the paired engineer ensuring the site is never uncovered during operating hours Operate a domain split - one engineer weighted to server network and server-room operations the other to end-user AV and classroom support - with full cross-cover Manage high-volume device estates and multiple computer labs including refresh and imaging programmes Administer the local server room including Windows Server estate backups UPS patching and capacity monitoring Support large-scale examination delivery including multi-lab concurrent sessions and enhanced standby cover Maintain detailed site runbooks network documentation and infrastructure records Coordinate the highest-volume vendor OEM and logistics activity in the estate Act as on-site incident commander support during major incidents affecting the site Produce site service reporting and elevate risks and capacity constraints to the Zone Lead

Operate a domain split - one engineer weighted to server, network and server-room operations, the other to end-user, AV and classroom support - with full cross-cover.
Manage high-volume device estates and multiple computer labs including refresh and imaging programmes.
Administer the local server room including Windows Server estate, backups, UPS, patching and capacity monitoring.
Support large-scale examination delivery, including multi-lab concurrent sessions and enhanced standby cover.
Maintain detailed site runbooks, network documentation and infrastructure records.
Coordinate the highest-volume vendor, OEM and logistics activity in the estate.
Act as on-site incident commander support during major incidents affecting the site.
Produce site service reporting and elevate risks and capacity constraints to the Zone Lead
Windows 10/11 estate management dows Server 2016/2019/2022 - independent administration across multiple roles.
Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP administration.
Microsoft 365 - Exchange Online, Teams, One Drive, SharePoint support and administration.
Networking - VLANs, switch stack management, access point configuration, Wi-Fi optimisation, structured cabling loyment and imaging tooling - SCCM, Intune, task sequences, application packaging.
Backup and restore platforms including tape or appliance-based solutions.
AV and classroom technology across auditoria, labs and teaching spaces.
ITSM tooling with reporting capability.
