Insurance Officer – Medical Underwriting
The Insurance Officer – Medical Underwriting will be responsible for managing a portfolio exceeding AED 60 million across SME and large corporate clients at Abu Dhabi Insurance Broker LLC. The role emphasizes delivering comprehensive Employee Benefits solutions with a consistent client retention rate of 98.7%. The position involves underwriting complex medical risks, including overage and pre-existing conditions, by leveraging advanced Excel-based cost-benefit models.
Key responsibilities include securing competitive market terms, conducting quarterly loss ratio reviews, and facilitating strategic renewals. The role requires close liaison with insurers to negotiate favourable terms, supporting the sales team in preparing tailored proposals, and leading client education sessions to optimize product utilization. Additionally, the officer will produce detailed reports on new and renewal business performance, thereby contributing to data-driven decision-making within the organization.

Key Responsibilities- Establishing and nurturing long-term relationships with clients, proactively driving account retention and growth through securing new business opportunities.
- Utilizing Excel models to conduct cost-benefit analyses and assess risk premiums for members with overage and pre-existing conditions.
- Fostering productive relationships with insurance companies to secure accounts in a fiercely competitive market environment.
- Supporting Sales Executives by obtaining competitive quotes and preparing detailed proposals.
- Initiating requests for quotations (RFQ) to eligible insurers and ensuring prompt receipt of quotations through diligent follow-up.
- Managing a high volume of phone inquiries and delivering exceptional customer service while addressing various group medical insurance needs.
- Hosting informative sessions for newly acquired and renewed policies to empower insured members to maximize on their chosen insurance products, thus enhancing overall client satisfaction.
- Conducting awareness sessions to assist clients in navigating quarterly loss ratio analysis, aiming to uphold a favourable annual loss ratio. This endeavour supports securing competitive terms from the market upon renewal.
- Collaborating with the Claims department to ensure timely approvals based on confirmed Table of Benefits.
- Compiling and presenting weekly and monthly reports for management, highlighting total premiums per client for both New Business and Renewals.
- Bachelor's degree in medicine, health sciences, business administration, or a related field.
- 2–3 years of experience in medical underwriting
- Willing to work full-time from the office in Abu Dhabi
- Able to relate to people from different cultural backgrounds
