Multiple site locations include Qatar, Kuwait, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates.

The Counterintelligence Operational Support Team provides Counterintelligence (CI) analysis services that fuse intelligence from multiple sources and varying classifications to identify threats, trends, structures, and locations of Foreign Intelligence Entities (FIE). This includes the dissemination of time‑sensitive and non‑time‑sensitive Force Protection (FP) threat information and assessments to supported Commanders, including six Air Force Central (AFCENT) forward‑deployed units within the CENTCOM AOR and one CONUS‑based unit.

Responsibilities
  • Collaborate in a multi‑faceted team to support OSI’s mission, providing transcription, translation, and interpretation services.
  • Conduct open‑source analysis of publicly available information to assess, forecast, and explain national‑security issues and developments.
  • Provide analytic support to collections, operations, investigations, and other defense intelligence requirements.
  • Research and analyze foreign and domestic public information and media (news, magazines, newspapers, TV, radio, etc.) to identify trends, patterns, and relationships.
  • Translate open‑source information and produce threat reports, cultural briefs, and advising on cultural themes or events.
  • Perform social‑network analysis on publicly available data in the target language, producing threat reports and advising on cultural themes or events.
  • Assist with language and cultural reviews of Media Exploitation (MEDEX) efforts.
  • Stay informed on local issues and trends through social media and other publicly available sources.
  • Support AFOSI with communications and briefings concerning AT/FP/CI matters.
  • Develop cultural‑awareness briefs, unit mission briefs, or other speaking points as directed by field leadership.
  • Produce concise translation reports, assessments, studies, and briefing materials in Microsoft Office formats, electronic matrices, or web‑enabled formats.
  • Deliver products compliant with ICD and AFOSI standards and upload them to the appropriate databases.
  • Travel within the AOR up to 30% of the time.
Linguistic Support
  • Transcribe source‑language material (audio, media recordings, real‑time interactions, preexisting text) into the target language in a literal translation while preserving intent and context.
  • Translate source information, conveying equivalent sentiment and meaning into written output.
  • Provide real‑time interpreting services for interviews and interactions, using idiomatic expressions and slang where necessary.
  • Offer cultural advising based on deep understanding of target‑language cultural and social‑media habits.
  • Produce concise translation reports, assessments, studies, and briefing materials in Microsoft Office formats, electronic matrices, or web‑enabled formats.
Qualifications
  • U.S. citizen with TS/SCI clearance and eligible for SCI level clearance at time of hire.
  • Minimum of 2 years research experience in the source language on foreign‑language websites.
  • ILRT Level 3 or above in all three modalities (reading, listening, speaking) in target language and English.
  • Proficiency demonstrated via DLPT, ILRT, OPI, or equivalent language testing.
  • Strong command of target‑language grammar and ability to understand complex speech with minimal paraphrasing.
  • Ability to communicate complex issues clearly and concisely, both verbally and non‑verbally.
  • Experience in consecutive interpreting using real‑time interpretation style.
Preferred
  • Native proficiency in the target language.
  • Prior experience as a military interpreter (e.g., Army MOS 09L).
