Qualification (minimum)
Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in Engineering
Experience5 + years relevant experience in Oil & Gas industry is preferred
Job DescriptionThe Buyer manages procurement processes, negotiates with suppliers, issues purchase orders, maintains inventory levels, and ensures compliance with company policies. Facilitates purchase requisitions for all departments, coordinating with suppliers, contractors and consultants to procure goods and services according to set standards and operational procedures. Additionally, by supporting the Purchasing Division by ensuring timely delivery, quality, and cost-effectiveness, including dispatching offshore consignments to meet ongoing site requirements.
Strong negotiation, communication, and analytical skills, along with proficiency in procurement software, are essential for success in this role.
- Review the material requisitions and plan the purchase activities, coordinate with suppliers, contractors and consultants to receive tenders and quotations of required goods and services, in order to facilitate tendering and enable adherence to the scheduled requirements
- Coordinate with the relevant departments to get approval on the evaluated suppliers and contractor to process purchase orders and contracts to facilitate the delivery of goods and services in order to meet the procurement requirements.
- Liaise with suppliers to handle adjustments with damaged and replacement of material not conforming to specifications, cancellation of orders in order to ensure receipt of appropriate credit notes as contractually applicable.
- Ensure all custom clearance documentation, statutory insurances and equipment are calibration certification are processed in order to adhere to the legal regulatory requirements
- Assist in preparation of periodical reports, as per the standard operating procedures of Purchasing Division and requirements by the superiors to support the timely submission of reports, in order to facilitate decision making for the management.
