Purchasing Officer

Job Summary

We at Emarat Aloula is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Purchasing Officer to support procurement operations for ongoing MEP and construction projects. The ideal candidate will be responsible for sourcing materials, coordinating with suppliers, and ensuring timely and cost-effective procurement in line with project requirements. Candidates with experience in MEP construction or contracting companies in the UAE will be highly preferred.

• Source and procure MEP materials, equipment and services
• In accordance with project requirements
• Obtain and evaluate quotations from suppliers and subcontractors
• Prepare and issue purchase orders (POs) and follow up on order status
• Coordinate with site teams, engineers, and procurement managers to ensure accurate material requirements
• Monitor delivery schedules and ensure timely supply of materials to project sites
• Maintain proper documentation of procurement activities including quotations, comparisons and POs assist in vendor selection evaluation and performance monitoring
• Negotiate with suppliers to achieve competitive pricing and favorable terms
• Ensure compliance with company policies, project specifications and contractual requirements
• Maintain updated records of approved suppliers and pricing benchmarks

• Diploma in Engineering, Supply Chain, Business Administration, or related field (Minimum requirement).
• Minimum 3–5 years of relevant UAE experience in procurement or supply chain.
• Experience in MEP, construction, or contracting companies is mandatory.
• Familiarity with procurement of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing materials.
• Knowledge of UAE supplier market and procurement practices.

• Strong negotiation and communication skills
• Good knowledge of procurement processes and documentation
• Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines
• Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word) and ERP systems
• Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
• Team player with good coordination abilities

• Experience in EPC or infrastructure projects
• Familiarity with local suppliers and subcontractors in UAE
• Ability to work in a fast-paced construction environment
• Immediate or short notice availability is an advantage.
