Senior Procurement Officer
Overview
The Senior Officer - Procurement (Indirect) is responsible for managing the end-to-end procurement of indirect goods and services, ensuring all purchasing activities are completed efficiently, cost-effectively, and in compliance with organizational policies and procurement regulations. Reporting to the Category Manager, this role supports business operations by processing procurement requests, managing supplier transactions, monitoring purchase orders, and contributing to the successful execution of the annual procurement plan.
The role plays a key part in ensuring timely availability of goods and services, maintaining accurate procurement records, generating procurement insights, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives within the Supply Chain function.
Responsibilities- Manage the end-to-end procurement of indirect goods and services, ensuring compliance with organizational policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Review, validate, and process purchase requisitions and purchase orders to ensure accuracy, completeness, and timely fulfillment of business needs.
- Coordinate with suppliers and internal stakeholders to ensure the timely delivery of goods and services while maintaining service quality and cost efficiency.
- Monitor procurement transactions, purchase orders, and supplier performance to ensure the accuracy of records and effective contract execution.
- Proactively resolve procurement-related issues, including delivery delays, order discrepancies, damaged goods, and supplier performance concerns.
- Support the development and execution of procurement and sourcing plans through the analysis of spend data, demand forecasts, and market intelligence.
- Identify opportunities for cost optimization, process improvements, and value creation to enhance procurement efficiency and business outcomes.
- Prepare and present regular and ad hoc procurement reports, providing insights on procurement performance, budget utilization, savings, and value delivered.
- Ensure procurement activities and documentation adhere to governance standards, internal controls, and audit requirements, supporting both internal and external audit activities.
- Build and maintain strong cross-functional relationships, providing procurement guidance and partnering with stakeholders to support operational and strategic business objectives.
- Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Management, or a related field.
- Professional procurement certifications (e.g., CIPS, CPSM, CPP) are advantageous.
- Minimum 10 years of progressive experience in procurement, purchasing, supply chain, or related functions.
- Experience managing indirect procurement categories within a large corporate or healthcare environment is preferred.
- Proven experience with procurement systems, purchase order management, and supplier coordination.
